Inspired by the warm winter sunlight, we took to Central Park for an impromptu photo shoot. This walk sign on the road takes street style to a whole new level with a chic Vanessa Bruno tote. We get all our Vanessa Bruno loot from Soho gem Kisan and the French boutique Ludivine on the Upper East Side. Pictured bottom right are on-trend sneaker wedges from Schutz and Grey Goose, and a pair of edgy Ash boots like Cara Delevingne's.
It is It
"It" by Alexa Chung is a personal collection of photos, likes and dislikes, tips on how to go to a music festival in style, and her thoughts on life. A quick read that you can skim through and reread in times of needed inspiration, we recommend this fun book for all Zollarites.

Affordable Art

On the lookout for a small, affordable photograph? Lumas is your answer. This art gallery, founded by Stefanie Harig and Marc Ulrich, with New York location in Soho and the Upper East Side, aims to make high quality photographs accessible to everyone. The photograph pictured above is a smaller version of an originally larger print and sells for $129.00. The subjects of their photographs cover everything from icons to fashion to stunning images of the ocean. We are putting this stunning image of Audrey Hepburn on our wish list!

Are canelés the new macarons?
Photo from Canelés by Céline website

Canelés by Céline is a small shop specializing in canelés that recently opened on 82nd between 1st and York Avenues. Although the outer, crunchy caramelized layers of these sweet French treats, lined carefully in neat rows like gemstones, may appear to be the same, the soft custard on the inside of each is a surprise. They offer every flavor imaginably, from a sweet vanille to a tangy citron, in addition to savory flavors like basil pesto  and parmesan cheese. Will canelés be the new macarons, sweeping the city by storm and available in every combination of flavors? Canelés by Céline already sells a truffle canelés, and just recently Payard came out with white and black truffle macaron. If these little custard filled delights do gain the fan base of a Ladurée macaron, just remember- Zollare caught it first!

There is nothing like a chic fur jacket to keep you warm on a windy winter day. A shorter jacket is typically better so the fur does not become overwhelming. Blue Tree, own by actress Phoebe Cates on the upper east side, has a great selection of fur outerwear. Pair with boots in the same tone. And a sparkly Vanessa Bruno tote never hurts.

Let them eat cake!
Follow Marie Antoinette's wise words and trade in Cheerios for a slice of Galette des Rois. This French   cake made of flaky pastry filled with almond cream to celebrate Three Kings' Day, serves as a delicious breakfast as well as dessert. Pick one up from Eric Kayser and hope to find the small porcelain toy tucked in your slice! Whoever finds the toy gets to be King or Queen for the day. If only the cake came with dresses and shoes like Marie Antoinette's.

If shopping in Gramercy, stop by ABC Kitchen  and sip on one of their fresh sodas. Pictured here is the lemon thyme. Easy to make for yourself at home too!
Don't let the cold and short days bring you into a slump. To brighten up your day, wear a fun, happy nail color. Every time you look down at your hands the bright color will cheer you up. Pictured here is Essie's "Off the Shoulder." Gorgeous pinks and corals shouldn't only be reserved for summer.

It may be chilly out but that doesn't stop us Zollarites from ordering a sweet peppermint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich from Pulino's
We have fallen in love with juju s'amuse, which recently opened a location on 82nd and Lexington and also has a store on Thompson street. Without being overpriced, this French boutique offers simple but beautiful, well-made clothing and accessories. Our favorite item from our visit to the shop were these star printed scarves, $89 each.
We found this fun piece of artwork hanging on the wall above the bar in ABC Kitchen in Gramercy. If your walls need some inspiration, get a small and thin piece of rectangular wood, a stencil of a tree, and blue and silver spray paint to copy this piece.
A lovely slice of rum-infused, rich and creamy pumpkin cheesecake from Sant Ambroeus. Order with a hot cappuccino to keep you warm and bright in the winter cold.
Get excited Zollarites! Ladurée is set to open on lower Broadway this January. Unlike the upper east side shop, this location boasts a dining room with a terrace and full restaurant menu. It is suspected that Ladurée is brining in two of their chefs from France. We know we will be the first on line!
A delicious pastry, named the Saint Honoré, from Maison Kayser, Eric Kayser's popular restaurant, on the Upper East Side. This pastry is so popular there was only one left by the time we got there! A cream filled pastry topped with caramel and fresh whipped cream is one of the best desserts in town. Hurry Zollarites and pick one up before they go extinct!
Grab your skates and dash to the Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District! On the street level of this trendy hotel, located next to the Highline, is a small, typically quiet, ice skating rink. There is also a stand designed to look like a ski cabin which sells hot chocolate and large, tasty crêpes.

If you haven't yet seen MOMIX get your ticket fast! A combination of modern dance, unique props (including a gigantic bouncy, bubble of money bars contraption to open the show), and Cirque du Soleil-esque tricks and moves makes this dance troupe a must see. They are performing for two more nights at the Joyce Theater (until Monday, Jan. 6) and are based in Washington, Connecticut.
