Bright Idea for Spring 
There may still be snow on the ground but spring isn't too far away! Start imaging sunny walks through the park, new sandals, and of course a fresh floral fragrance. Try this fun idea from Amour Vert's Instagram. Have an old perfume bottle lying around or did you just use the last drop of your signature scent? Save the bottle and fill with two or three bright blooms. A creative and fashionable alternative to a vase. 

Karl Lagerfeld once said, "Clothes are you uniform for the battle of life, and sweatpants say 'I surrender.' " We agree with you Karl. But the Kelsi Blocked Sweatpant ($129.50) from Club Monaco hardly resembles the typical baggy and ill-fitting pair. The black color blocking down the middle of the leg is a nice nod to the current sportswear trend, while the closer fit and cropped bottoms make them comfy yet still chic. Now wear them with a gray sweater in a different shade, then in the spring pair the with a crisp, boxy white blouse or tee.

Loving Ladurée
How we ending up eating this delicious passion fruit raspberry tart... Yesterday as we were strolling through Soho we caught sight of the signature pastel green Ladurée sign billowing in the winter wind off the side of a building. Eager to take a peek at the new full scale restaurant we walked over to take a look. Waiters dressed in crisp whites standing ready beside the bar? A glass case filled with delicate, delectable French pastries? A woman sitting sipping to tea from a pink pastel "tasse"?! Could it be true? Had we stumbled upon this Ladurée mansion when it had opened two days early and was completely empty? Minutes later we were sitting in blue velvet tufted chairs ordering "une salade Bonaparte" and monkfish with caramelized fennel. We had hoped to be the first ones through the door, and we were. Make a reservation for dinner tonight before the lines stretch around the block. Vite vite Zollarites! And bon appétit!

The Maison of Macarons 

That's right Zollarites! The long awaited opening of Laduree's  new Soho location is finally here. February 5th to be exact. As in on Wednesday. As in only three days until we can sit down to a table underneath an elegant chandelier sampling decadent pastel colored pastries. Pick up the phone and make a reservation. You know we will be the first hungry customers.

Faites comme les françaises, and pick up a hot tea or coffee with a golden mini croissant at family-run café Bel Ami  on 68th and Madison. The benches and table outside the café make it a prime spot for people watching or reading a good book. (We sat with a cup of Earl Grey and the great read we can't book down, "Mastering the Art of French Eating" by Ann Mah.)

Weekend Getaway 

Need a little break from city life? Escape for the weekend to the little quaint town of Litchfield in Connecticut. The two hour drive from the city makes it an easy day trip or you can spend the night at one of the town's sweet inns. Lunch at moules frites at West Street Grill, named one of the best restaurants in Connecticut. We would drive out just for their rustic homemade bread and heavenly spaghetti. After lunch, stop of R. Derwin Clothes, located on main street right next to West Street Grill. This store boasts a vast collection of luscious cashmere scarves and soft chunky knit cardigans. We had ours eyes on a long caramel suede vest.
